Grrrrr!
The land around the Hollywood sign is for sale. I sincerely hope that someone buys it to preserve it. I know it's a lot of money, but there is a lot of money in California. Surely someone would want to buy it and keep it free of homes. Some places shouldn't be built on. Parks. Forests. As a Californian, I believe that the Hollywood sign is one of those places you just don't violate with houses.
Art failure but not:
I never really tried to draw from a picture before. I did those pics of Pat/Maddy, Karina, Keegan, Mijn Favoriet on the computer. But I traced the outline of them and just sort of filled them in a bit cartoon'y myself beyond that. But to draw something from scratch by copying a picture, never. Soooo, being the James Dean fan that I am I thought I'd try him since I always make my cartoon'y digital drawings girls. The top picture was my first attempt yesterday. The bottom picture is the same picture, attempt #2, today. Clearly neither looks like James Dean so a failure. BUT, they do look like male faces so success! heh. Brian said I got the hair right and did some other things right. I hate noses and think it was the eyes that were the main failure, which Brian says is one of the hardest parts to get right, so for two attempts, I don't feel too bad. Which is amazing because I'm incredibly hard on myself and felt like I'd never be able to draw anything I'd really LIKE but now, I have hope that I can draw something decent someday, if I can do this on my first two attempts... you know when I thought I couldn't draw stick figures last year and my cartoon'y chicks aren't exactly fancy real drawings.
Mom:
She had her MRI today, we should hopefully know the results around the end of the week. Somehow the crazy lady slept in it.
