I almost forgot

So MS sleep issues are still a friggin mess.  I couldn't fall asleep today, err yesterday now... whatever... until about 2 or 3 or something, I lost track.  Brian woke me up at 9:30.  Seems I missed Palin getting heckled while I slept. Brian actually saw something political and informed me of it, this from the non voter who relies on me to keep informed even on the most well known issues of the day.  BTW - I bitched at him, gave him all he needed to register and informed him if the Christian wackos win and take away my uncle's marriage I'll blame him, nothing worked he didn't register even though he's scared to death of McCain

So anyway apparently Palin  said something like "My son is over in Iraq fighting for your right to protest"  Brian cracked me up... Mr. so uninformed he joked "What's a Biden?"  told me something like "I didn't know Iraq was threatening our freedom of speech".  Politically he's still wiser than Palin.  I'll never understand why people claim the Iraqi war is about our freedom of speech, etc. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.  If anything, this war has been used to take away freedoms.  Please if you can prove to me that the sons of Palin and Biden and McCain and countless others are in Iraq so that I have freedom of speech I'll take this all back, otherwise she's a dumbass for saying such a thing.

I agree with that statement completely. If anything Iraq has limited our freedoms. I like when we actually agree.

The notion is that the terrorists be threatening our freedoms.
Arggghhhh.
The hates our rights.
So that's why we have to go kill about a million random Iraqis.

But it doesn't sound so spiffy to say the terrorists be threatening to quarter soldiers in our houses without the owners' consent....

Well, terrorists do threaten our freedoms by trying to kill us. With that said there were no connections with the terrorists and Iraq until we went in there. Actually now that I think about it, in a way Palin is right. Now there are actually some terrorists in Iraq. I believe that it would be difficult to recruit terrorists if we pulled out of the middle east completely, but since we are there under bad policy, fighting against them in Iraq does actually help protect us. The policy of policing the world and empire building and putting bases in the Muslim holy land of Saudi Arabia is leading to enthusiam for terrorists attacks. But since we are there right now and the Government policy is horrible, the soldiers in Iraq are actually protecting our freedoms. I hope I am explaining my thoughts well because they aren't very linear.

I was actually sorta joking.
I don't believe the poor kids in Iraq are doing anything to protect me, or my rights.
They are out there in harms' way because a demented government sent them.
We have no mission and no business there.
By the time we leave we will have succeeded, perhaps, in putting the Sunni's back into power.
Go figure.
But our presence there incites hatred against us...not our "freedoms", us.
Because we have been behaving hatefully.

Yes our presence in the middle east incites hatred. I know this might be illogical, but since we are there under what I believe to be bad policy, our soldiers are protecting our freedoms. They are fighting against the hatred our policies have instituted, did I clear that up at all?
