politics and meds rant

The comparison you mentioned in the article.
"both have friends that bombed the Pentagon."

Yes that is crazy inflammatory. I wouldn't say it was false, but yes crazy inflammatory.

"Ayers was already out there"

Not really. The Ayers thing was known by political junkies but it wasn't really out there until the NYT article and then Sarah Palin citing the article in her speeches.

Truth is I am so fed up with both camps being such hypocrites. Stop crying about negative/malicious ads and speeches. BOTH sides are doing it. Both sides said they wouldn't. Both sides lie continuously. Both sides are going to lead us into socialism. No matter who wins, the people lose.
Well, it was out there in the primaries anyway, just not in this way. But it was brought up in debates and news stories back during primaries, guess no one was paying attention then. It also wasn't as nasty then.

Crazy inflammatory indeed. You just know those talking points he gave those volunteers got *cough* expanded upon and made worse once they tried to get out there and make them their own in trying to spread the word.

I'm a LITTLE hopeful in that McCain seems to notice it doesn't look good for him when his campaign as seen as so negative. They've removed the he's friends with terrorists (which I'd still say is a stretch given no one has proven they're buddy buddy) from their speeches it seems like and gone on to actual issues.

And the last debate is two days away now, so issues then too, no matter what anyone thinks of the candidates, I think it's getting dangerous to not be on issues. Personal stuff is getting dangerous.
"And the last debate is two days away now,"

I really hope we get some real questions this time. There are still a lot of issues many people find vital that haven't been covered in their debates.

Abortion, immigration, potential supreme court judges, embryonic stem cell research....These are usually big issues, they haven't even been asked about in the debates yet.
Could be, it is supposed to be "domestic issues"... and with a moderator again. So could be anything. Guess we'll see. Hmm I haven't looked to see who the moderator is.
Of course who cares what the debates are about when you can just fix the elections. ACORN has been more active that usual this year, probably because they are in line for huge money if Obama gets elected. BTW.. the Dems were trying to give them money in the first bailout proposal.

Looks like Mickey Mouse is ready to vote in Florida. This I think ends the debate that the real Mickey lives in Disney World and not Disney Land.

Dem. Rep. Tim Mahoney
Campaign Slogan
"Restoring America's values begins at home"

Hmm....while these may be the values of many Americans, I am not sure these values are the ones we should be striving for.

How about the line
"And Guess what? The only person that matters is guess who? ME. Do you understand that? This is how life really is. This is how it works."

I feel like this is the stance of the vast majority of our elected officials.
I find the ACORN thing hard to take seriously for a few reasons...
1. I dunno who the hell the are, heh. I keep hearing the name and people keep making it sound like Obama all but founded and owns them, but I'm too lazy to really get into them, I have a basic idea. They're the kind of group you see out trying to register people to vote, get sigs on ballot measures, etc eh?

2. Unless every state they're working in is very very very very bad at voter registration requirements, the states I've lived in and been registered to vote in (3 I think now) all require your state ID info, SS #, etc be included). In fact my CA ballot said right on to check my envelope, if they couldn't confirm my ID on file was valid, I'd have to have sent photcopies of my state ID with my ballot for my vote to count.

3. With or without ACORN any fool can go to the post office or anywhere else you can get a voter registration card and do this crap that's why they verify them.

4. If the state and local officials do their jobs and verify the registrations as they should Mickey Mouse won't vote, and he lives in Cali, I've seen him!!! ;)
Hadn't heard of Mahoney, while watching that video, the story showed up on MSNBC, by then I'd already ran his name through Google... he replaced Foley? Wow that district has some bad luck... OUCH.

That guy sounds like a jerk :/
I'd say he just lost an election.

Some info on ACORN
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_Community_Organizations_for_Reform_Now

ACORN is a (taxpayer funded) leftist organization, you can read some info on things they are involved in above.

Obama worked with Acorn as a community organizer and a legal representative.

"According to ACORN, Obama trained its Chicago members in leadership seminars; in turn, ACORN volunteers worked on his campaigns. Obama also sat on the boards of the Woods Fund and Joyce Foundation, both of which poured money into ACORN’s coffers. ACORN head Maude Hurd gushes that Obama is the candidate who “best understands and can affect change on the issues ACORN cares about”"

While they are measures to help stop voter fraud, it still happens, massively, I mean tens of thousands. Acorn in the past has registered the deceased.

If it didn't work they wouldn't risk penalties and jail time to do it.
yeah, Mahoney's a jerk indeed.
