I do believe I said I probably wouldn't post again in 2006. I wouldn't have but mom got me pics of her Christmas present from me, I'd forgotten to take a picture before sending it. Admire my work or else I'll umm... well... I'll demand you do better than this if you don't admire it *nods* I didn't make the sun like pattern, I found it online, it's a Magic the Gathering thing, but was as close to a sun pattern as I could find. I decided one wasn't big enough so made a second one (with the colors reversed from the first one) and added the solid colored squares to fill in the empty spaces.
I'm just now going to sleep. Bad head. Bad sleep schedule. Etc. Plan on waking up in the afternoon, getting coffee (while they likely still have peppermint mocha frappuccinos at Starbucks), come home, watch bad tv or movies or something, perhaps if I am lucky get some mudslides to go along with the movies.
Some of you are in different time zones and I doubt I'll post later sooo....
Happy New Year!
Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!

3 Arabic language TV stations are now reporting Saddam was executed.
He deserved to die. But I've also seen many legal experts who said that his trial was in no way fair and yet in the next breath they say that fair or not there was so much evidence against him, he'd have been convicted no matter what. I don't like anyone thinking that is ok in a courtroom... but I guess it's to be expected in a case like this.
I'm not so eager to see the political response, but am curious about what the average Iraqi would think about all of this... you know if they have time to think while living in a war zone. I saw one "expert" who said the violence in Iraq probably won't change much, they claim that neither side loved him that much as they all think of him as someone who worked with the US, they see him as an enemy and blame us for making him. That's not what the usual "expert" on tv says so was interesting to hear they see him as basically one of "us" ( us in quotes because I think it's unfair to lump all Americans together, but eh that's just me, I know we're not all the same).
I guess, I'm watching history be made.
PS - why do television stations claim that it is too graphic to show him hanging but then a few minutes later find it perfectly acceptable to show old video of children laying in the streets clutching to each other dead from the attacks he'd done on his "own" people? How is that less graphic? grrrr...
Video: Show us some great animation.
And to keep with the Dutchie theme, another music video done in that same animated sketch style (mixed with real video).
What were your New Year's resolutions for 2006? How did you do?
Having MS and being lazy means I don't set goals, I know if I have too many bad MS days / head pain days and fail to reach an actual definite goal I'd beat myself up over it. So instead I told myself I would TRY do something crafty for me and would attempt to learn Dutch so I could send Mijn Favoriet an email in Dutch for Christmas.
How did I do? hmm... I did so-so. I did make myself a new Dutchie influenced bracelet (orange and white). The Dutch... no so well. I did learn a few new words and managed to read more basic sentences than last year (on irc and Injustice, where usually one or two words is easy to get and therefore translating the rest via educated guesses is easier than it would be if I were reading Dutch elsewhere). Mostly, I flopped and didn't put enough time into learning. Sooo 2007 = another promise to TRY to be a bit less crafty and to try to learn more Dutch.
Now if only my head would resolve to have a pain free year. Judging by how today went, I doubt there's much hope of that.
Wiiiiiiii Wiiiiiiiiii Wiiiiiiiii all the way... well not home! FYI, there don't appear to be any Wiiiiiiiis in Los Angeles, not in the big chain stores, not in local game stores, not anywhere! There was however one controller, which we now own. Ohh and one store did have controllers imported from Japan. Estimates on new shipments range from "they don't tell us", "They're random", "January", and "this weekend". We were, however, told we could easily buy a PS3 for a lot more money, pass. Sony vs Nintendo = do I even need to explain who wins?
Audio: Share one of your favorite songs from 2006.
My most played of the year are probably: Gnarls Barkley - Crazy, Anouk - Lost, and Katie Melua - Shy Boy... That's too easy, to pick those. So instead I decided to post Pink videos. I know, you love her or you hate her. But these two definitely have most important messages that any other song I listened to this year (except Bright Eyes - When the President Talks to God).
Good:
KeeKee loved the Superman laptop so much he fell asleep clutching it. It would seem my sister is not thrilled as she spent a bit more getting him a GameCube and he didn't fall asleep clutching that.
Bad:
No new KeeKee pics til mom feels better. Poor mom being sick now.
Neutral:
Brian and I had been talking about finding old friends. I looked up Bill on google. He's always the one I think of most when I think of my younger years, besides CynDee of course. I've not talked to him since I was ohhh 21. I finally found him on google complete with a pic... so I know he's alive and well, which makes me happy to know. But alas it was only a news story and had no contact info for him.
Crafty:
Put Brian's Thundercat on hold for another day so I could make Jenn a present. Finished it. Also semi starting to understand another chain I wanted to learn, but erm, I should be picking it up faster than I am. Still I'm getting there and being more patient with myself and my ohhh sooooo sloooow brain than I'd usually be.
News:
RIP President Ford. These things always happen in threes, right? James Brown, President Ford... am I missing one? I doubt if Saddam really is hung soon that anyone would count him as the third.
Nighty Night time (as soon as I try to add another link or two to this chain). Weltrusten...
