Still waiting for the $1 refund to show on card but BofA is kind of silly and won't show it until the next official statement instead of putting it with current activity. I've got my new card so the old one can't be charged by that stupid WC Value Plus company. If they get my new # heads will roll as I've not had probs with my Chase cards and I pretty much use them at the same trusted known, legit, sites. The medical whatever they signed me up for -- some discount program is now cancelled and they said they'll refund the $9.95 to the old BofA card and even though it's closed they said BofA will still get it and can refund it to my new card without them having my new #.
We'll see if the refunds go through right, by the drama of them having my card, and then me being forced to not have a card due to them is now over anyway. And now I can access my account again and they can't. HA!
]]>Well the heat has one benefit... The only time it cools down at all for me to feel human and awake is after 2-3 am. Sooo... I was able to call BofA almost as soon as they opened and didn't have to wait on hold very long. As soon as I called to say I had two in dispute she asked if one was the WC Value Plus one and said people get signed up for that when they make purchases online and basically as soon as I said that was the one she was removing it. She didn't seem to know the LBS Health Options thing and couldn't auto remove it so it must be a new scam for this company, it had to be marked in dispute but she told me to remove it from my current balance. She also canceled my current card effect NOW (even *I* have no access to it online or to pay it or anything). A new one will be to me within 2 weeks (usually one) so those bastards can't keep charging me.
I'm not even sure I'll bother calling the bad business WC Value Plus / LBS Health Options at this point as they'll piss me off and they can't charge me now as they don't have my # and they have a BBB complaint to answer for from me. I suppose I'll call anyway to point out I'm on the Do Not Call List and whoever their partner is, I don't care I'm telling them call me again I can report them and the gov't can start charging their asses for it.
The woman who helped me at BofA was very nice with the cutest Southern accent, I got her first and last name and didn't feel like ranting at her too much since she seemed to know this company is a problem already. I am worried that if I call the bad business the bitch side of me no one ever sees will come out. I wonder if I can stick to cancel this, I didn't want it in the first place, I cancelled my card because of you, and add me to your do not call list without adding -- in memory of George Carlin -- all 7 words and then some. Luckily, I don't have their # yet :P
Hmm noon on the east coast, usually charges clear my cc by now and still pending so looking like it might be Monday. Figures, though I was so sure it'd be today, my psychic powers are brokeded :P I really want to get rid of this bad business. Ahh well I've still spotted it sooner than so many seem to, a few more days I suppose won't kill me and their BBB has notified them of my complaint, they have until July 2nd to reply.
It feels a little cooler in here for now -- until the day time heat kicks back in and my phantom smells seem gone for the day. They seem to only come around for a few minutes every few days or once a week or something for the last several weeks now. Maybe I can sleep now that I'm not worried about smelling fake burning stuff or having to call my cc company again since that seems unlikely today. Seriously when I go see the neuro next month phanton smells are question #1 as it's really annoying for several minutes to smell fire - not cigarette smoke, not like someone cooking, but like all out hmm something is BURNING... and to look around all paranoid and nothing is wrong anywhere. It's less annoying when it's random nice smells for several minutes but still it's a real WTF? where is that coming from sensation. It's driving me a little crazy though it seems not that uncommon for people with all kind of brain issues... it's just weird. And though it's only a few minutes at a time and sometimes then goes away for days or a week, it leaves me just weirded out for hours. Life with a broken brain is one giant amusement park.

With so many stories being AP stories this just means that people won't want to quote them or link to them. But you can't forget stories you've seen. So people will start paraphrasing and not credit or linkback. Maybe even search other sources for the stories to credit instead. But so many news sites (even local and smaller sites) use AP stories that I'm betting on the paraphrasing and no credits or links.
We wouldn't want people talking about your stories or visiting your news sites, I mean that'd be GOOD business practices. Even if they're there to question your story, hits are hits, no?

Mom called, the roommate of someone she cares for just had the same thing happen on a bank account he had little money in -- and for a lot more money than they did to me. With a debit card that was new / never used. So mom thinks either banks give the info out or just a case of banks etc not shredding info or something.
Whatever, it sucks. They can't do anything anything about my charges yet as they've not gone through -- just temp not charged. I will demand a new card # but meh I want to wait a day or two because dilemma -- I made a legit purchase online over the weekend to replace the purse that broke at Disney. I don't want to cause drama over THAT now due to this stupid company as the charge for that is also pending, hopefully it goes through first, I doubt it, I suspect they'll all go through on the same day. But still I'll just call, demand they removed the 2 not legit charges and give me a new # thanks to a company making unauth'd charges since everything online shows they keep doing it even if you try to cancel. Some people say they never signed up (sounds familiar) and couldn't cancel. Some did sign up but never got the materials to cancel with and when they found info to cancel with it was invalid. Others got matierals to cancel with and it was invalid #s or they were told they "weren't in the system yet so couldn't cancel yet". Others did cancel but kept getting charged anyway. I think cancelling card is only way to go.
And yeah, as I said the roommate of someone mom cared for just had it happen on a NEW unused card so watch out. Both of us had it happen on BofA accounts, mine a CC his a bank account. But online it's people with all banks seeing it happen -- banks, credit cards... same corporation home address / phone under different names. New cards, old ones, doesn't matter. So watch statements carefully. And temp charges won't be dealt with through BofA anyway. So you'll have to have to demand a new card/account # or wait for them to go through to get them refunded and STILL demand a new account # or they'll keep coming.
Right so the other day I wrote about the phone call I got and how some "quality assurance" guy informed me I'd be sent a $1 package of coupons like it or not because I ordered from their "partner site" but I could cancel it after it arrived and if I don't I'll be charged $19.95 a month. Well I got so frustrated when I kept telling them I don't want that and they kept telling me it was being sent anyway and Brian was asking me what is wrong, that I hung up on them. My cc company said to call them to reverse the charges, no problem. But they hadn't yet charged me so I couldn't call to reverse nothing. Tonight it's showing up as pending so tomorrow I call. And now I have a real name not just "Quality assurance". WC Value Plus. And ohh they didn't just charge me $1, they also charged $9.95 under the name of LBS Health Options.
Looking up those names brings up lots of unauthorized charges to both Credit cards and bank accounts so watch for them. Not sure who but someone is giving out credit card and bank account info and since I only really shopped at reputable sites like amazon lately I'm pissed off.
I've already gone online and filed with BBB which went straight to their local BBB office. But the fact that their names bring up so many hits each either hundreds of comments tells me that you guys should all watch out because I wasn't using my card on iffy unknown sites.
So my cell keeps ringing but it's an 800 #, they don't leave voicemail and reverse lookup doesn't find it = I ignore. Brian got sick of it and answered :/ I wish he hadn't because they asked for me and he told them I was here. He gave me the phone instead of saying I wasn't here even though it was some vague "quality assurance" calling at 8:30 pm. They tell me I have a package in the mail because I've made a purchase with my credit card on a "partner website" and will be charged $1 for their discount club or some shit but can cancel when it arrives and if I don't cancel I'll be charged $19.95 a month. Since my THREE times saying I didn't want it didn't cancel it, I'm pissed now I get to wait for their packet to cancel AND get to report them to my CC company because they claim I'll see a $1 charge on my bill for it. Argh. I wonder who their "partner site" is since I really have only shopped at Amazon lately yet they gave the last 4 digits of my cc number when they said what they had on file. This is just bullshit.
If I get charged $30 late fees when my bill never arrives for being ONE day late when I wisely realize wait isn't that bill due, add the late fee and then some on the bill the day I pay it (again one day late), then get charged a shitload of interest on late fees because paying MORE than the late fee was on my payment doesn't count as paying the late fee since they add it to the next bill, the least the CC company can do is make sure that companies can't go around giving out my cc # and letting places charge me "Just $1" to send me shit I don't want and have to cancel after it's sent to me.
*EDIT* I let my CC company know that company won't let you say no, that they tell you no one wants it until after they read the packet so we're sending it anyway, blah blah blah. And that Brian heard me tell them over and over no I don't want it and asking them but you're sending it anyway? Etc. In case 1. they try to charge me the $1 and 2. in case they're doing it to others, because ohh hell yes I'll be canceling when the packet arrives and telling them off when I do, but this can't be legal.
When Time Warner bought up Comcast here I was truly amazed any cable company could have worse service than Comcast had. It's been pretty pathetic really. Like the day they took over we started having signal probs etc. Just ugh. Every rate the company site I checked in the past = they usually had about 1 star in LA.
Well the city of LA agrees and is suing Time Warner for lying to customer and providing such crappy service here. HA!

I have adsense ads on two sites. I'm removing them from one maybe both.
My main site is my art. Unlike Vox / LJ I'm not political. I'm not talking about politics, news, my life, anything even remotely political at all.
Now in theory AdSense has been good. I've not made a lot of money but I have a few $$ built up in my account. Granted it will take years to get to the $100 for a payout but whatever. The site I am removing them from is the one that gets more hits, and made most of the money that I have sitting in there... But screw them.
One of the sites I have is a coffee blog with my mom. The ads there are Coffee related. Great.
My site? The main page = yeah they show art related ads. Some of the individual pages they show art ads. But when I went to look at my latest post to check formatting etc after posting it -- all anti-Obama ads. WTF? It's a post about Robot art I made. So I start clicking on other individual posts. Art ads. Art ads. Art ads. All good. Maybe something about robots was a keywords on those ads? Wait... NO...

5 Ads like that on that post? No. I think I'll boycott them, I'd rather lose the money sitting in my account now than wait to make $100 that way. At least with AdBrite I can approve EVERY ad that will potentially appear on my site. Or maybe just skip ads and move to a Zazzle widget. If that was on these sites I post politics on and if I didn't support Obama I'd not be so pissed but I don't want that shit on my Art Site.
Off to check the coffee blog, if that shit is there too I'm done with Ad Sense for good even if it mean losing a few dollars I made fair and square.
