I told ya before, they'll do ANYTHING to bash we "California, Hollywood liberals" and Obama both. Though I suppose technically Obama IS one even if he's not from California, we all know he's buddy with us... er, them. I've reformed as you'll see in this post ;)
What did we do now? We... are you ready for our horrible horrible crimes against humanity? It's realllly bad this time... we... I'm not even sure I can say it... We... we... fine I admit it, we do charity work and / or encourage it. I know, it's the worst thing I can think of. I mean Republicans did tell us that people like me without insurance are supposed to ask for charity if we get too sick and need help. But we all know they don't believe in anything they say. Charity? Hahhahah. As if. Volunteer? Who in the hell does THAT???
Thank you Glenn Beck for telling me the error of my ways. Video here. Without you I would have thought that Brian donating his time to Special Olympics, food banks, etc was a GOOD thing. He's a Hollywood guy. DAMN HIM!!! It's true. Friggin Hollywood bastards. Oh, Glenn Beck, your conspiracy theory is true. OMG Hollywood is out to get us!!! And Obama is behind it all. And, I mean Brian did do this before Obama was elected but, still... Oh hell, this is totally communism.
Because of my health, I can't do the things Brian does. Also I don't work so I have little money of my own but when I do I try to give to the Christopher and Dana Reeve foundation. Ohh... Dam. Christopher Reeve was Superman, in HOLLYWOOD! Drats. Again, you're soooo right. Damn them!
My nephew does the MS walk every year for the NMSS. They got to him too!!!! We're all dooooooooooooomed!!!!!!!! I thought he did it because I have MS. But now that I think of it, he loves his uncle Brian, who works in HOLLYWOOD. Friggin hollywood liberals and their damn agenda to influence us to do such horrible things. To work for bad bad bad evil causes. I... I'm gonna go cry and repent for all of the bad things we've done!
This article in the NY Times claims that a judge starts out by saying that judge is rebuking the state government. Funny, I read it as more as him insulting voters.
I will give him that it IS stupid that my state passed a law taking away gay rights during the same election where we gave chickens new rights. Bad wording but that's how it's seen, in the simplest of terms.
In a state with some of the highest taxes in the country is it really wise to basically say well if the voters didn't have to vote on tax increases we could fix this? So you want to change it, strip that law, increase taxes even more and *poof* like magic CA is all better? Riiiight. I'm sure that'd really be a brilliant solution. Jackass.
One of the most expensive states to live in. Where tons of people are losing their houses. With double digit unemployment in many cities. With some of the highest taxes already. The answer is to take away the ability of the voters to vote on tax increases so you can raise their taxes again and all better? And people think fires and quakes are our biggest threats.
I lied, one more post before bed, too good not to post everywhere.
Prop 8 wasn't the end of the family values fight in California, oh no! Someone finally got it right ;)
See, if you want to really protect the family then you have to REALLY go all of the way to protect those good heterosexual marriages too right? Of course you do. Mommy and Daddy can't divorce! EVER! Think of the children.
'Cause the Bible tells you so...
My sleep has been screwed up, so I slept through the speech. I'll watch it later. Thanks to Twitter I know that some guy named Joe Wilson yelled out liar during it, spoiler!!! heh. Umm, aren't our elected officials supposed to act more grown up than the idiots at town halls have been? They should know to sit and listen to a speech by the president without yelling out like jackasses on national tv, no? Is the next move they start punching each other? I bet C-Span's ratings would go up anyway. Whatever, he's already apologized. In other words, I just wanted attention. S. Carolina politicians are gonna get reps as being nuttier than anywhere else if this keeps up, they got the Governor that disappeared to visit his mistress too don't they?
I swear if they say they're good conservative family men, don't believe the hype. Another one is as sleazy as it gets and resigns here is California. None of our business except he goofed and told us all at which time it apparently became a distraction and oh it seems one of the women may have been someone who worked as a lobbyist appearing before his committee. *sigh*
Then I tried to figure out why Ellen was a Twitter topic. She's replacing Paula on American Idol? Interesting.
ooh tomorrow is Vampire Diaries premiere, yay! I was kind of thinking / hoping it was Office premiere night too since they re-aired last season's finale last week, but it appears not. Darn.
There comments are not on a political video, they're on a video about the fires. The people posting here could just be "trolls" but I doubt it, this is too common anymore, I suspect some of them believe what they say. Aren't even Liberal haters supposed to respect firefighters no matter where they live? Even out here in the hippie tree hugging west coast? Assholes. Brian asked me if that commenter got permission from Rush to post, I told him it might be Beck fan, since he's the crazier one.
Las Vegas really wants California businesses to relocate. Really wants them. Don't believe me?
When I'm not being bombarded with ads by the insurance companies telling me how great bi-partisan reform will be which mandates that I buy their insurance (yeah really great when I lose my program that gets me my Rebif), I'm seeing this lipstick on a pig ad, this monkey business one, and this rotten apples one. I'll give Las Vegas credit -- I've never seen a city try to steal a whole state's business so aggressively because really I see the insurance company wants me to believe their insurance reform plan is great ad most, then these, then normal ads. I know LV was hit almost as hard as us, if not harder, in the housing market stuff, than we were. Is this their way of saying look CA is a lost cause so umm hurry up and come save us before we end up the way you did. Of course we have one of the few industries that didn't get affected as negatively as others did during the sucky economy aka "Hollywood" (most of which isn't IN Hollywood) so I can see wanting to target California. Despite the state being broke there's still a LOT of businesses worth a LOT of money here. Good luck getting all of them to move.
Notice what the weather forecast is? I thought I'd be nice and include the C and F both for my international readers. Even though that's not what you should be noticing. And yes, if you've seen the fire coverage you've probably heard that it's MUCH hotter here than that this. I'm nowhere near the fires. This forecast is for my zip code, not the more generic LA area forecast you get on national or international news. I'm on the coast, not near the valleys. But that's why the rest of the forecast is so lovely, even so far away we get the fun stuff that goes with the fires. Also, if you do ever decide living in mountains in California is wise, when they say leave -- LEAVE. Two firefighters have died and at one point there were reports of people trapped because they hadn't wanted to leave. Oh the home from the movie ET is or was in the line of fire for you trivia buffs, not sure if it's still in danger. Don't breathe much if you're down here.
TV, Radio, Astronomy projects all threatened by the fires. It'd be a shame to lose that famous observatory. Hmm we have several famous observatories don't we? How'd that happen? I didn't realize LA was some mecca of astronomy geeks. There's a towercam from the observatory here.
Now, Amazon. Sooo... that $16.90 that they sent me the other day, well a survey site I belong to pays in Amazon gift cards and I was at the cash in point (they cash you out at every $20 earned). Well FINE. Seems Amazon just really wants me to order again. I finished Blood Promise (Vampire Academy, Book 4) the day after it arrived anyway. Ya know, usually at this point in a series it seems like the authors lose their minds, if only for one book, she didn't. I'll happily be getting the next book, not just because I've read this far and feel like I HAVE to, but because I want to know what happens next. My only gripe when reading a series of books is that so many authors tend to recap a little too much. On the one hand for people like me with horrible memories, it's okay, I don't have to re-read the previous books and hey maybe you assume that people are picking up in the middle of a series. On the other hand, eh let them pick up the other books and sometimes I do re-read the books before reading a new book so stop it!
Anyway, being at $36.90 and ready for new books, I ordered. I decided I wanted to go for the rest of the Mediator series since the local B&N only seems to ever have the first two in stock -- aka the first two I already own and have read. So I ordered Reunion (The Mediator, Book 3), Darkest Hour (The Mediator, Book 4)
, Haunted (The Mediator, Book 5)
, and The Mediator #6: Twilight
. But that didn't kill off my gift card funds. So, I also got American Gods: A Novel
. And even then I had $2.74 left over. I love Amazon. Now I just wait a few days... I hate waiting and play the guessing game about what they'll do with the package. They're not very consistent here about what they do with packages. Do they leave it at the door, balcony, leave a notice. Ohh the choices.
According to this story Santa Monica property is tanking. Wow the news is quick. No kidding? Breaking News! This just in! Haven't I told you people before that values in West LA dropped, dropped, dropped? I'm pretty sure I've been saying this for awhile now. It's not big news. I've told people if not here then personally (like to mom, Brian, Windy, Misi, etc) that it amazed me you could now find some properties like condos for as low as 500k in West LA, at rare times even 300k. That's HUGE. When we moved here you couldn't find a closet for that price in the bad areas of LA. Now you can sometimes find that in the ok areas, even in or near areas like Santa Monica or Beverly Hills or Marina del Rey. Not huge places or in the best best neighborhoods but ok condos in good neighborhoods bordering on the better ones. Yeah, the news is quick here. They didn't have to wait for reports, they could have picked up a paper or read the real estate sections online. Duh.
After seeing what I've seen on my local news since the court ruling it's not a good idea for me to make a post. I need to cool down or any posts I make will just be about the idiots that have been on my tv, they'll be long long long posts. They'll have more foul words than any porno movie could possibly have. I'd like to be more adult than that when I post, believe it or not. But I will say this much for the people who, since the Prop 8 stuff started don't get why it's "so ugly" here when it's not in some other states that have passed similar measures? Consider you're not seeing the local news. I've watched local and national coverage. And there's a reason I'm too angry to write what I'd like to now and it's not what I've seen on national coverage. Let's just say that the people from the Yes campaign are from religious groups and they didn't go to the same church I did growing up, clearly. Then again remember last year I found this website showing I was raised in a cult ;) At least growing up attending a "cult" made me not so hateful, bigoted, ignorant, etc.
Anyway, yeah, I can't even begin to address this issue. So, a quote instead. Now if only I could join in on the discussion in an adult manner right now. I may rant and rant and rant, but even I have my limits...
Bigotry is the disease of ignorance, of morbid minds; enthusiasm of the free and buoyant. Education and free discussion are the antidotes of both. --- Thomas Jefferson
