Brian woke me up at 11 to have me call the dentist to reschedule for two Saturdays from this weekend.  It seems to be a law that on holiday weekends (or breaks of any sort) someone at work must infect him with a nasty cold.  He was of course nice enough to share.  So we were both up last up coughing thanks to a dry sore throat from hell.  He thought it would be short enough lived we'd both be feeling well enough to go today, he woke up feeling differently. 

Friday while out getting cold meds, some guy yelled across the parking lot "I like your hair"  I turned around as it was a small parking lot so we were pretty sure he meant me, he did. He then added something about pumpkin or pumpkins we couldn't hear as clearly, so Brian announced "Ok, let's go Pumpkin".  No pics yet, I feel too crappy.

Brian came out and hung up the phone, then watched a SNL skit with me.  If you saw the SNL that Tina Fey hosted, it was the skit about an old man selling dvds his wife had had his grandsons edit to explain the movies to him.  There's a part where they say something like no grandpa don't go to answer the phone, it's in the movie.  The phone sounds like ours.  Brian had gone to answer ours.  When he realized it he announces "I just got pwned by SNL".  He's been walking around in shock ever since. HAHAHA.  He really doesn't find SNL funny so he seemed rather shamed that they got him :P

Bush keeps saying the economy is just fine... WTF?  Clearly he doesn't shop, etc.  Gas prices = stupid, we all knew that.  I buy soy milk which I must say is pretty much always on sale one brand or the other 2 half gallon cartons for $6 and has been that way every week for a year now.  So while we notice our grocery bill going up up up I didn't notice just how bad things have gotten until I bought something I buy only a few times a year:

You Tube Awards.  There's the usual you'd expect like Chris Crocker  crying over Britney (which I found amusing the first 1-3 times I saw it but ugh now, the best YouTube has to offer, really?) and some that  I at least had never seen.  It lead to me subscribe to this guy, w00t art tuturial and speed painting videos.  I really should subscribe to good people and watch more often, because right now I have *checks* 9 that I subscribe to and can probably delete several of them.  Hmm someday I'll have a YouTube watchfest and find all of the good stuff to subscribe to, then the real trick.... remember to check in and watch more than every few weeks/months.

I am way behind on email, comments, still have a show to watch thanks to Anne... and have had exactly(ish) 7 hours in two days.  So now I am gonna sleep.  Brian got the weekend off so get to go mail mom a surprise today and then CHOP CHOP!  It's that time of year, hair is going bye bye, then I'll let it grow again until hmm about this time next year when it all gets CHOPPED again.  It's just below shoulder length and I'm thinking quite short this time.

Ohh I got a present today!  Brian's coworker drew a very good Batman and told Brian I could have it, so I do have it.  And I've never even met who drew it so Brian must have told him how I <3 Superman and am starting to want to read Batman (I own exactly one Batman comic so far).

Ik hou van jullie allemaal!  Haven't told you all I love ya lately!  Hope I remembered how to spell it, my Dutch goes to shit, what little of it I know, if I don't use it often.  In fact, why have I not read any lately? BAD ME! You can all punish me, err on second thought.. I'm not sure I want to know what some of you would think is appropriate punishment, so just lecture me.

Right then... Now... I said zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!  Dammit!

So the plan was a casual birthday weekend since my B-day is Monday.  But the movie industry being as glamorous as it is = Brian worked today and works tomorrow too.  Yes his work week = Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri.  It would have been last Monday too but my spinal tap took all day so he had it off. 

Briant surprised me with Robosapien, the cats are not amused.  Dutchie is scared to death and runs from it, unless she is behind it, then she doesn't mind it.  Lister is more like get that damn thing away from me already.

Still we did so my b-day shopping.  Now the plan was I'd either get a newer DS and give my old one to Keegan or I'd get a USB flash drive bigger than the one I have since my HD is small and full and Windows keeps telling me what a loser I am and how I should clean up some space.  Well we got there and found a small in size but large in space external drive that kicked the ass of my I'll just get another  flash drive idea.    I was all set on just getting that since I hadn't told Keegan about my potential DS plans and do need the HD space.. Then I saw THIS. 

I was really torn.  Brian is a Wacom fan and from what I know of tablets I understand why, but even he was impressed with the idea of a tablet that works as a tablet when hooked up to your computer AND one that lets you draw on paper clipped to it away from a computer to import it to your computer later.  So he told me look it's your birthday, this is fun, hard drive is boring.  Get this now, I'll get you the hard drive for Christmas.  Soo.. I have a new nifty tablet that I can use to draw on with ink if not near the computer!  And assuming I don't destroy the pen, as long as the ink refill is the right size, you can even use any brand ink refill for it.  And it came with a spare plastic tip for the pen too.  Brian tested it.  As a regular tablet it clearly wouldn't compare with his fancy Wacom one, but when he sketched a gator on paper and then imported it to the computer he was actually impressed it picked up all he drew on the paper and said if it was a little cheaper he'd go buy him one too (he can't justify $150 now when he just bought a spendier Wacom tablet a few months ago, but I bet if he sees them on sale later he'll own one too).

Also went to CVS, my headband sets are gone, tried two stores :(  The lady said they went like hotcakes and were a promotional item so unless they get another batch for Christmas sales, they won't be getting them again.  Blech I don't want to spend double to buy them from the official site but even on the official site they're listed as limited time promotional sets.  Grr.

Then we went out to dinner.

Lightened my hair so I can dye it orange tomorrow.  Yeah... Orange instead of red.  Napalm orange to be exact.  In a brand I had bad luck with in the past, faded way fast, but all fade fast on me except Raw and Raw doesn't seem to really exist anymore so boo.

Still achy but wasn't too bad today, until I had to climb the 2 steps out front then my back said erm NO.  Had the weird twitches when I went to lay down this morning.  But otherwise, a lot better than earlier in the week.  Not back to normal yet, but better.

Hmm long post, just realized it'd been around 4 days since I posted, figured I'd say I am alive!  And even though my birthday isn't until Monday it's pretty much over and Brian got me good presents! :)

The 50s are back I think:
When I went to pay my JCPenney bill this weekend, I noticed a lot of the clothes had a 50s feel to them.  The displays as we walked into the store made me think "Lucy would have worn that". 

Scarfbands

Then today I found this really cool headband set complete with two plastic headbands that have holes in them and three scarves so you can wrap them through them to customize them.  Half price of what the official web site sells them for an no shipping = now that I realized it's not just the scarves that are different but the colors and sizes of the headbands too, I'm going back for the other two sets.  I tried one on already and Brian said it looked cute, when I said it felt like a 50s style he said he thought that too but didn't want to insult me. lol.  I <3 it.

Red:
Though in a very non 50s thing, I'm sooo tempted to dye my hair bright red again.  Just need to find a good dye, don't think I can find my good long term Raw brand red anymore and the others don't work in my hair very well.  blech.

This week and next:
Spinal tap = I call a lazy week.  Even if it goes well,  the site of the spinal - the tap was tender several days last time.  So yup lazy me all week, I call it!  The week after is my b-day.  Brian asked me what I want to do.  I've no clue.  I've been skimming friends lists on LJ and VOX, just not much to say.  If I missed anything important while slacking, I'm sorry.

Politics:
Well so much for watching the debate.  I couldn't sleep until 1.  I set my alarm.  2 1/2 hours later it woke me up.  I snoooooooozed it.  I woke up 4 hours after that.  Oops.  Did watch videos of most of it online.  I must say, before the debates I was torn between Hillary and Obama.  Now... Throw Edwards in there.  His answer on health care was the only answer to anything that sounded like a plan.  And since health care is such a major issue for me personally, he may actually get my vote.  The people who keep saying there's over a year to go, keep forgetting some of us now will have earlier primaries, there's less than a year to go and I like to vote smart.  Soo... I've gone from two to investigate to three now.  Hrmph. 

Not that the others are horrible, but quite honestly none of the others strike me as a future president.  Besides the issues,  how you present yourself does matter.  You'll be representing our country.  We've had an idiot doing that for too long now.  You need to keep your composure etc.  There's a few I don't think can do that.

Hair:
Now it's not only chopped, but purple too.  Not sure how purple, just did it tonight, haven't seen it in natural light yet.  In bathroom lights I get the impression it will look truly purple in some lights and in other lights will probably look more subdued almost like a natural color with a tint of purple.

Friends:
Supposed to make an honest attempt at getting a new pic of me for Bender this weekend.
 
Put together a dutch sentence on my own.    It's simple, but I think it's the first time I asked my dutchies is this right, and they said yes!  Ik heb geen geld.  Simple simple simple but I feel almost smart! heh

Mijn Favoriet is going away with his gf for a week soon! YaY and eeek!  YaY because it's nice to see him happy.  Eeek because I have to pretend he's sending me a kenk every day for a week!  I've made him pretend he'll miss me! heh

Me:
Headache, wanna puke.  Go migraines. Today = lazy.  Sunday = Disneyland California Adventure.  Was gonna skim LJ/VOX, but meh it can wait or I'll just give up on trying to catch up and start over on Monday!  zzzzzz

Tried to comfort a worn out Brian.

Cut about 1/2 of my hair off (too tired for a pic yet).

Didn't sleep at Saturday night or Sunday day...

Corrected someone's rude comment about the Dutch smoking so much pot that they don't know where they live...  because they say they are Dutch or are from Holland and that they speak Dutch, when they live in a country called the Netherlands and not Dutchland.  I  explained he was using all English words, not the Dutch words, that the Dutch would only say they live in HOLLAND if they do... that they would say they speak nederlands not Dutch. etc etc.  So ENGLISH speakers are the ones smoking too much pot as we have it wrong not the other way around.   My Dutchies laughed saying I was in fact correct on every point I made.  Someone I didn't know even replied to my response with "owned".   The thread was deleted before I could see if  that person replied to me.  It really wasn't a big deal, someone I know actually posted what had me worked up.  I just don't see the point in insulting a whole group of people out of the blue for no reason, even if it looks like you're trying to be funny.  Especially not MY Dutchies!!! heh.  Which leads to....

Got promo'd to "Almost Dutch" from "Wannabe Dutchie" by another wannabe, for knowing more Dutch than they do.  they expect me to be able to go into a Dutch irc channel and translate it all soon.  Ooopsie.  Guess I should start reading it again when I am rested someday.

Spent a lot of time pouting to Mijn Favoriet.  But didn't get much time to talk to Bender or Mike.

Talked to mom on the phone and kept asking if her baby kitty was a human baby.  It doesn't meow or cry like a kitten.  It makes a waaaah wahhh wahhh human baby crying sound.

Now it's Sunday night, and I need to zzzzzzz for probably 12+ hours to make up for missing sleep.  My body is not happy.  Every time I start to recover from a bunch of headaches, tingles, an exhaustion spell, a cold, rough patch of allergies, worse than usual sleep probs, etc then one of the other probs hit.  I never know what to expect, life's either really interesting or annoying... or maybe boring as I almost know which issues to expect next anymore. *yawn*

Movie:
I will give Martin Scorsese credit, The Departed did not have a typical Hollywood ending.  There's one or two things towards the end that I did not expect.  It was long but most mob related movies seem to be and it didn't seem like it was unnecessarily long.  For those who saw it, Brian's co-worker was the one seen only in pictures, the guy killed over the theft.   Brian had to rewind and pause it and when he restarted it, I was glad he keeps subtitles on when we watch DVDs as he was busy giggling to himself over it.

Today I hate my iPod:
My iPod decided to be a POS again.  Every few months, it randomly decides it won't shut off.  I mean really... an off switch that always works, how hard would that have been?  I am spoiled by the hard drive space and feature on it.  If I could find an MP3 player and portable storage solution for $150, I'd be kissing it goodbye.  I already lost a lot of HD space when switching laptops so an average MP3 player will only solve my music issue, not the storage issue.  argh.

So easy a caveman could do it?
Geico Cavemen are getting their own show it seems.  I love the Geico cavemen... a show with how they are in the commercials could be cool, if they change them at all the show will ruin their characters.  Eeek.

Bye bye to a lot of hair:
Next weekend or the one after, I'm chopping my hair short.  The last time I bleached it was with a bleach that's supposed to make it like white blonde.  It didn't work as well as the normal bleach and totally fried my hair.  So chopping it short and bright colors, if used, will be over my brown hair so just a colored tint and not the bright colors as I'm used to them.  *sigh* I liked bright red but bleach is bad.
