So a few days into the new year and now post from me, oopsie. Mainly because I'm feeling like hell. Tingly. Crampy. Headachey. Anything ending in y, you name it. Needless to say we didn't get around to seeing Avatar again, so we'll probably save it for next weekend, or during the week. We'll see. During the week may not work since Brian works.
Didn't sign new lease yet since we have til the end of February and we want to clear up how they're gonna charge us for water now that it's not included in rent for new tenants and for lease renewals. All the office could tell us was it SHOULD be between $20 and $40 a month and they'd base it on the fact that we have two people living here. Beyond that they didn't know how it worked. Erm, what? No guarantees what the bill would be. No telling us if it's based on OUR use or the the building then divided by number of tenants or the whole complex divided by number of tenants or if it could be triple that estimate some months, etc. They said we'd have to talk to the manager to find that out as they didn't know.
Lister needs Prozac. Okay, not really. But he's on a month long diet. Special f00d and no kitty treats. For one week also kitty ear meds. They're trying to figure out if he has f00d allergies -- they think it's possible that's what caused both his tummy and ear probs. Kitty f00d allergies wouldn't show up on the kitty allergy blood tests so it's easiest to test for them first by very strict f00d controls = only one kind of f00d and nothing else at all. He's moping. He doesn't like the f00d. He seems to think he's being punished. He doesn't even want to play with his toy mousey. He'd putting on sad kitty face and crying a lot. Kitty guilt trips are fun. I just tell him I'm sorry but humans get to go on diets too and he's still not getting kitty treats or different f00d no matter how much he sulks. I swear he even sighs.
Link stolen from Krizzzzz: The problem with a vote against all option = politicians are sneaky ;) As I said on Twitter, if we had that option ALL of our politicians would change their names and we'd never complete an election.
I don't know how many of you will remember this but I posted awhile ago about David having a stroke. David basically being my uncle. It appears he created a goal for himself to create a blog to help others who have had strokes / care for those who have. A goal which he's now accomplished as he has his blog online. You can see it here.
Tonight was Avatar. I'd post about it -- but I'm worn out and am waiting for some names from Brian so I can do a proper post -- for now the short version is it was awesome. I'll do the proper post on this in a day or two. So sore and worn out.
As seen on Jimmy Kimmel -- Awful Library Books! I think my favorite title thus far would be Dissection Guide for the Cat (and Selected Sheep Organs). Oddly enough it's never come up in my Amazon recommendations. Also tempting is Anyone Can Be Cool... But Awesome Takes Practice. Oh and Looking Forward to Being Attacked. How cheery! Some of those books don't look that awful, just awfully outdated.
I just made the mistake of watching the Carrie Prejean / Larry King interview. I think my IQ just dropped. Wow she's dumb. And a brat to boot. And she's a media darling on the right? She's pretty much being held up as a role model for girls. Yes, because she's for "opposite marriage". She's dumb as a brick. Personally, I thought the quote from Donald Trump was more insulting than what Larry King asked her himself. She just tee hee hee'd about the Donald Trump quote like it was the cutest thing in the world. The question Larry asked was easy -- Why did you settle? Not WHAT was the settlement. He basically said, yeah I know you can't talk about that. But WHY did you go into the mediation for a settlement. Your motivation isn't blocked in an agreement. Just the terms are. Still she didn't want to answer that, so he joked about how rude he was and moved on. She had a temper tantrum anyway. Ripped off her mic. Acted like she'd leave because Larry is like Oh, my, God, soooooo rude. But she really wanted the attention so she stayed. But then she didn't seem to get why she couldn't reeeeallly hear him or be heard. Larry is telling her well if you put the mic on you could hear and we could hear you. DUH. If she is who the daughters of the far right are supposed to look up to, good luck to them. When you raise a generation of girls too stupid to be anything but covergirls, have fun with that. I mean I guess maybe they can always speak up for opposite marriage and tell us that they think that you know that um God he like um totally like umm thinks that umm like umm gays they umm teee hee uhh should totally like be friends and stuff but um you know they should not have sex because in his Bible God says that you should only have sex if you're married and tee hee that's only if you're a boy and a girl. But it's okay if you're gonna go to hell, we'll all be friends until that happens. Or -- you know they can make sex tapes of their own. Whatever. By the way why isn't God against boob jobs? Except in the cases of cancer. Just wondering. What's wrong with what he gave you? Why are you going against God's will?

I found a house that Melissa and Brian might both wanna buy. Any other Doctor Who fans too. Here. Kinda afraid to show Brian. Our house might end up with a makeover and I don't watch Doctor Who. Though he could decorate it worse. It'd be better than turning it into a Star Trek ship or something.
Yeah, in case you didn't click that link -- it comes from me spending too much time at this site tonight: http://lovelylisting.com/ Man the things that people do to their houses. Namely houses they want to sell. Really matching your comforter to your wallpaper? Couldn't find matching carpet too? Something that looks like blood on the floor? Couldn't throw a rug down for the picture that you're using to try to sell the house?
Watching TYT:
TYT talking about Carrie Prejean's sex tape made me LOL.
Oh also liked TYT telling off Pat Robertson for saying that Islam isn't a religion. Video here. Cenk slams Christianity some to prove some points, so sensitive types need not watch.
Lister update:
Lister went to the vet. His ear is still being irritated. But he's still on track to have the cone and stitches removed next week. He'll be so thrilled. He's HATING the cone. Cats love sleeping but contrary to popular belief they do occasionally do more than eat, sleep, and poop. Lister is having a tough time walking around as he just crashes into stuff with the cone on, even though it's clear. He does venture out around the house, once in awhile. But yeah.. He mostly sleeps it off still. As I was waking up today he did come running into the room and jumped on the bed, taking over my pillow before I was quite ready to give it up.
NaNoWriMo:
Writing: 18,853 words so far, plan to write a little more before bed. I may have to do a COMPLETE re-write when the year is over. Ivel's story is sucking at the moment. The concept is okay but woah boy... It isn't so bad that I wanna beat myself or anything, but bad enough that I'd gonna be a 50k outline when I'm done. *nods*
Reading:
I finished A Touch of Dead (Sookie Stackhouse: The Complete Stories). I'm kind of annoyed. Not by the book, it was good. By how many fans gave it one star reviews. Apparently a lot of them read the short stories in the anthologies they've been published in before. They're disappointed. If they'd read the book description they'd know that. I did read the book description and have never read the short stories before, only the full length novels, so I loved it. *shrug* Have also gotten another 60 or so pages into Rosemary and Rue: An October Daye Novel
, which is getting way more interesting now. Yay! Want to finish it though. Am on page 200something out of 300something. Don't want to rush but have tons of books I'm excited about starting next too. Ahh. The problems of being a junkie.
I was telling Mijn Favoriet about how old school comics were soooo full of propaganda that it wasn't even funny. Stuff we'd never really let the get away with today. So then I introduced him to SuperDickery... He found some winners there, but that whole site is pretty much win or fail depending on how you look at it.

Enjoy!
For those who love f00d...
My brother, the chef, now has joined the world of blogs and I shall pimp his out for him:

I had two invite codes for DreamWidth's beta, I gave one to mom, if you want the other let me know, 1st to ask gets it. It's gone. I'll post again, if I get more of them.
I'm still not 100% but used this sickie time to re-read the whole Sookie series. All 8 books this week. Just in time, got the notice from Amazon today the 9th shipped today, w00t! And in the meantime I'm currently reading: Watchmen because no, I've never read it. Bad me. Didn't see the movie either.
Brian wanted to do something different this weekend, perhaps see Wolverine. Somehow I've also skipped the X-men series thus far and haven't been feeling well so that didn't happen. But we did go to Big Lou's Toys. Brian got three Star Trek ships. This is, an almost word for word conversation after we got home:
Brian: Want to see them?
Me: Um ok but they all look the same to me.
Brian: These look the same to you?
I glance.
Me: Yeah they're all circles up front with two square things behind them
Brian: Ok that sounds bad.
Brian has me look closer
Me: Ok maybe that one looks different
Brian is teasing me about how little I know about space stuff
Me: Look I handed money to the guy who wanted money for his spaceship today, I did my part for space travel leave me alone
And I did. That guy has got to have one of the most amusing signs of any signs of any people asking for money around here. His sign actually says he wants it to fix his spaceship. I chuckle every time I see it. I also like the one from the guy who was clearly plastered saying he wasn't gonna lie, he just wanted to stay drunk. Honesty is good, I suppose.
http://www.xtranormal.com/ I do believe that is my link of the day. Easy way to make cheesy movies. Templates, basically. You just pick the characters you want to use, the backgrounds, the facial expressions, music, camera angles, etc, type the script and it turns that into speech.
I like Webby time because in the middle of the "yeah we all know this site" kind of sites and the "um what the hell why are they nominated instead of this other site" kind of sites there's usually a few that I didn't know of that make me laugh, waste too much time playing cheesy games, or just announce "wow". Here's two of those this year -- .
http://www.livehopelove.com/ - Listed in the Art category, it's a collection of poems, photos, etc about living in Jamaica with HIV/AIDS.
It's also in the Best use of Photography category, as is this site: http://www.protect77.com/
A site that was awesome, but I'd not wanna show Keegan as he'd probably get ideas -- ideas that would likely involve him drawing on his laptop screen or a camera lens.
