Sarah Don't Bring My Kids Into Anything Palin is back talking about her kids. This time she wants us to know that if the public option passes then Obama is gonna put her son, who has Down's syndrome, in front of a DEATH PANEL.
Dumb ass bitch. Trying to scare old and sick people with a bunch of lies and using her kid to do it.
Sadly for her, I'm not dumb enough to be swayed by her wink wink aren't I cute, look at my kid, you don't want him to DIE IN FRONT OF A DEATH PANEL cry cry bullshit.
Obama is not going to put your kid in front of a death panel. He's not gonna stick me in front of one and one of my diseases can actually be fatal if it affects certain organs.
It reminds me of how telemarketers like to prey on old people. Or maybe the e-mail scams -- how do people fall for those. They keep going back to the same people for all they can get them for. All of these people using weaker people. The sick, the old... whoever.
They tell them "The government is gonna take over healthcare, then because you're sick or old they'll want to get rid of you to save costs, so they'll put you in front of a death panel to see if it's cheaper to get keep you alive or just kill you." And these suckers believe it. These suckers who are already on government health care -- medicare. If they really wanted to kill you I'm sure they could have prescribed you a nice pill and taken care of you by now.
Now, if you want to keep using your poor mindless souls, at least don't make them look so stupid at these town halls -- instead of making them say they're against government health care when they're on it, or convincing them that the government just wants to murder them, maybe give them more reasonable talking points. You're republicans. Go back to your roots. Free market -- what will it do to insurance companies? Fiscal -- what about the costs? Etc.
Your party wasn't always that party of hypocritical nutjobs.
I noticed my VOX gets a lot more hits than my LJ from countries I've never even heard of, some seem to be repeat visitors. Interesting. Hello random strangers who read my rants for who knows what reasons on whichever site you read me on, I'm flattered. I can only assume that the people who read me on LJ mostly do so on Friends pages, because even there I end up with random comments from strangers where as on VOX only registered users can comment. On LJ anyone can comment (though non friends get screened).
The only real news story today (Thursday, I've not slept yet, yes it's now Friday) that got covered was the beers at the white house. And really, who cares? I don't like beer, I certainly don't want to talk about it. Maybe if they were having mudslides or rum and coke, I'd be interested. Some guys who really didn't want to have beer together had beer together. w00t!
I did a load of laundry. That was more exciting than the "beer summit". So was Shatner reading Palin tweets, does that fall within the fair use laws? I think he's pushing it. Mijn Favoriet and I discussed that. He's a law student, granted in Dutchieland but he likes reading up on our laws too. We agreed, Shatner is pushing it. It's technically "satire". But he is also reading her whole tweets word for word. But he's reading a few tweets out of many. She could probably get pissy about that if he keeps it up, but she'd be stupid to.
Oh there is one other story. That cash for clunkers program is out of money but will continue through the weekend. They'd expected it to go through what November I think? This was it's first week I think? So many people went out and traded in their old cars that it's already out of money. So the government boosted car sales for one week. Got a bunch of older cars with bad gas mileage off the road and got people into cars with better gas mileage. Win win win. See the government can sometimes do something right. Wonder if people can pay for those cars.

But, here we go, let the real fun begin. We Hollywood types will be watching, you know when we're not taking turns running off to Alaska to steal their guns. *eye roll* Reason #1 she'll never be president: she can't stop talking shit about those of us aren't her fanatical base. She can't win with her fanatical base alone. She apparently either doesn't know this or thinks we'll forget that she KEEPS doing it? Either way, dumb. I won't forget. I've lost count of the Hollywood / California, etc etc comments, but there's been enough of them that I'm so beyond insulted that even if she could convince me that her crazy far right religious George Bush like politics wouldn't be an issue for me, I'd NEVER vote for her. I don't appreciate being insulted by someone too stupid to even answer simple questions like "what do you read?".
I really like the part in her speech about how the press lies and how in honor of the troops they should stop. I bet she means the ones who keep saying Obama's birth certificate isn't real... ohh wait, those are the same ones who support her, so probably not those ones...

Golly gee that sure does sound like someone about to run for president, don't it? Is it to soon for me to say I called it? Her spokesperson confirmed she did write that post. And what heartfelt reasons, I'm sorry I didn't get that press conference personally, it was more like hints of why, not actual reasons.
And yes it's all the medias fault that they're questioning such bizarro behaviour. That's their JOB. I've even seen people who praise this woman all of the time basically saying WTF? this is political suicide. Without the WTF? of course. But yeah.
If she moves into a private job say punditry (is that a word?) I will honestly give her props for being brilliant. If she's doing this for what I've already predicted and it's to run for higher office then I'd like to state here and now that she's a bigger idiot than I ever gave her credit for being before. I can predict the Sarah quits when the going gets rough ads already and her political career is dead dead dead.
So as I shut down my computer today for my daily sort of sleep sort of nap, CNN has breaking news -- Sarah Palin won't be running for Governor next time around. Surprise. DUH. That's breaking news? A few minutes passed and they're talking about rumours that no, she'd added that she's quitting NOW but they're still trying to confirm as they'd not yet seen the tape. Um, huh?? Not running for re-election makes sense, we all know she wants to run in the next primary for President. But quitting her current office 18 months early? None of them do that.
And then I watch the video. Better outside of government. Basketball references about knowing when to pass the ball. Trig needs her. Is it Trig? I forget with all of the unique names which one it is, but yeah the youngest one needs her and doesn't need to go through all he's put through. Etc etc. I call bullshit. She's preparing to run. Guaranteed. And she's not running off to take care of her baby, to protect him from the spotlight. If she is then she won't be jumping into the national spotlight which I guarantee she is. So I'd like to pre-emptively call her a liar at least on two counts of her claims as to why she's quitting. It's not because she can do more outside of government and it's not to protect her baby from the spotlight. Oh and she knew I'd say this because she called us all out basically saying we'd all call her a liar. Why? Because she is, mark my words. I'm not psychic, it's just a fact. She's off prepping for the next presidential election. We all know after the last elections she NEEDS lots of prep time. Even Brian talked about how well she did last time around and he sucks at politics. Brian also suspects the fireworks show in Alaska just got larger.
When Palin attempts to run for President in 2012, let us hit YouTube and find videos like this one from TYT to remind us of how she governs Alaska. Great choice for AG there.

She's an idiot, they asked her if she was sure that was really where she wanted to film the interview because of what was in the background.... *blinks*. 1:17, talk of the chopping block as Mr. Turkey gets taken to... well the chopping block.
On the bright side, animal rights activists will really love her now. We don't really do Thanksgiving, Brian just gets us Pizza... thank goodness. ugh.

Since krizzz recommended I watch Lilja 4 Ever and then told me where to find it, I couldn't resist as I was sure he has good taste. WOW. What a tragic movie Good... but tragic. Feel free to watch it anytime you think you have a life worth whining about (unless women being used and abused is something that is some kind of trigger for you, then stay away).

Dear Sarah Palin.
Obama hasn't even been sworn in and yet you're on the tv so much you'd think the 2012 election had started. We know, we know, you think God had already spoken to you and you're supposed to kick that door wide open, we can tell. You're not some evil Republican partisan, you want to work with Obama, but hey about Ayers.... blah blah blah. Get back to running Alaska and shut up already. Do your job, read all of those papers, and keep your head down until we're ohhh so blessed to hear from you during that next election. Until then, your 15 minutes are up. Oh wait, you're doing a press conference in awhile, think I might miss part or all of it.

To my friends on LJ, errm LJ still sucks, every other site works fine for me but on two comps and multiple browsers for about a week now I have to refresh about a million or so times to load anything on there, so I'm trying to at least read you guys but am having a bitch of a time -- so if I miss anything, sorry, it's just getting frustrating.
Brian's alarms will start going off in a few minutes. Gonna try to get to UCLA early, sometimes that works out, sometimes everyone knows that trick. Am wondering what the EEG results say except everything I see online just says positive results mean seizures and negative doesn't mean anything, can still be seizures or can be something else. So mostly I'm just wondering if it's positive or not. I hate medical tests that are like this. Yes means yes and no means who knows. Hmm according to epilepsy.com "The likelihood of recording a seizure during the EEG is small". Yeah so I'm probably going out there to spend hours for a 5 minute appointment to be told we don't know or no. I love medical stuff.
When this is over, assuming McCain doesn't pull off some miracle, please please let her go away. And if the Republican party is really so dumb that they think she is the future face of the party can they at least get the woman an education? Someone to coach on her on speaking with the public? Some training of some sort? When someone questions you about why we basically only see whites at your rallies and how to make the Republican party more diverse, the answer you give isn't to say the Constitution "preaches" about equality and then to add we're diverse - look Todd is here.
