Now they claim that if the John Edwards affair had come out earlier, Hillary, NOT Obama, would be the Democratic nominee... *blink*... No sorry a *blink* doesn't cover it, allow me to go smash my head against the wall. I... Uh... You... She.... Just... WHAT????

I know people won't believe this, but for as long as this campaign season has been, it actually has not been THAT nasty. At least not initially. It was actually relatively civil as far as political campaigns go.

The Republicans biggest probs were themselves, they had no one they liked running -- McCain wasn't someone they WANTED as he's wasn't Republican enough (or wasn't at first, he's changed enough now they've warmed to him), and a Mormon (which scared them but hey Fiscally they liked Him), another actor yay (but ah crap he fizzled), etc.

The Dems biggest probs? Only one really! Something like this: Politically we LIKE all of our candidates for the most part -- But ok it looks like Edwards isn't gonna win.... hmm so we're down to a woman -- a CLINTON woman and Black man who had a MUSLIM father... ok no problem for us... but hell... general election time -- how do we get people not in our party to look past what we don't really mind within our party? How will we win the good ol' hard working white people voter vote?

That's when it started to get ugly. See the internet exists. And officially -- well parties, the big boys, the parties didn't even have to get their hands dirty - as idiots were able to spread, like viruses, on both sides, things that hurt everyone. And despite the fact that everyone seems to think that Dems / Liberals have it the easiest and get babied, Obama got hit the hardest. Oh his pastor is the devil. Oh he's Muslim aka CODE WORD for he's really a TERRORIST!!! We can't elect a TERRORIST!!! Etc. It was nasty nasty.

You guys know I love Superman. Superman has a tacky history to be honest. If you look at some of the old ones, some things that were socially acceptable way back, just wow the way people bashed other cultures especially in times of war etc -- we'd not go there today. But on the net people will. That's what the Muslim viral emails about Obama reminded me of. That's what the New Yorker cover spoof reminds me of. The point they were trying to make... And I thought for the most part it ended there....

The who is the bigger celeb stuff of now, it's stupid and tacky but even it is kind of tame.

But now? Now the Edwards affair surfaced. And nasty politics is back. And we're back to low low low places I can't even image we'd be going.

Top aides to Hillary's campaign should STFU already! I had regained some respect for her after her FISA vote. After how she handled her support / stumping for Obama. And now.... this.

OMFG if we'd only know that Edwards cheated SHE, not OBAMA would have won! Nope. You can't know that. And in case you've forgotten.... Bill won, with many more sex scandals than Edwards had. You shouldn't touch this one. REALLY. SHOULD. NOT. GO. THERE.

If you want to say Hillary would have won if.... Bring up things LIKE the FISA vote. Bring up things that matter. I think there would have been a mass switch to Hillary after the FISA vote, but NOT after the Edwards affair revelation. This is, after all, the Democratic party. We forgave Bill. But we don't want our rights fucked with.

I'm pissed off. Hillary acted like a Dem with her FISA vote. As her spokespeople or former ones, whatever, act like dems as well and don't touch this sex scandal, especially when her family had a much bigger one. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

McCain offers up his wife for a biker beauty pageant... which appears be a topless beauty pageant where they have to simulate sex acts on stage. Now either he was telling a bad joke to kiss the ass of the biker crowd for votes or he didn't know and he's getting his ass kicked by Cindy as I type this. I thought liberals were supposed to be open about what perverted things were acceptable to them and Republicans were supposed to hide them and pretend to be repulsed by anything sexual! He suggested his wife should get on stage in a contest where you show your boobies to a bunch of horny men and show them all how you preform oral sex! That's pretty public and pervy, I'm pretty liberal and I wouldn't do that! Silly Republican.

So Deborah Jeane Palfrey aka the "DC Madam" committed suicide after being convicted of crimes that she'd not have had to commit if prostitution were legal. While her clients are out living their lives... Right Senator Vitter? I feel so sorry for this woman's mother who had to find her daughter hanging, dead. I'd assume because she'd rather die than face prison. If prostitution is going to be illegal why don't the men get the same blame. Get put through the same shame, legal process, etc. I know she had to "launder the money" etc. But they aided in that didn't they by paying her? Why do they get to go on to stay *cough* well respected *cough* businessmen or politicians while the women are always dragged through the mud publicly?

Meh we're such a stupid society. Why should we care if some guy wants to pay someone for sex. If they're of age to consent who are we to say they cannot work out deals. Let's see legal = less court cases aka costs the government less. Can collect tax money on the earnings = makes the government money. Legalized like in Nevada = health regulations = safer. Legalized = no need for the women to launder the money. Legalized = instead of investigating people's sex lives of consenting adults all of these agents could be, I dunno looking for child molesters, rapists, murderers, real criminals?

Besides, when talking about consenting adults it's really difficult for me to see an issue with things like prostitution, gay marriages, etc. All of these taboo, ev0l, horrible things that will ruin society -- that involve people of age to make legally binding contracts for themselves (no things like gay marriage don't open the doors to sex or marriage with animals - they can't legally consent) - the objections against them always come from people who get caught DOING them. PROSTITUTION IS BAD... really why'd you go to one? GAYS ARE BAD... really why did you have sex with one? Flipping hypocrites, just make all CONSENSUAL SEX LEGAL WHEN IT INVOLVES ADULTS AND NO ONE WILL CARE ABOUT YOU DOING IT ANYMORE. You made it taboo. Yet somehow, you go on with your nice happy little lives and the women pay.

Isn't it supposed to be Republicans who have these hypocritical sex scandals?

In 2004, he was part of an investigation of an escort service in New York City that resulted in the arrests of 18 people on charges of promoting prostitution and related charges.

No, I don't care what consenting adults do. I don't think prostitution should be illegal. Collect taxes on it. Regulate it like Nevada does. Make sure the girls (or I suppose guys) are clean. Don't care. Adults who can say yes can screw and pay for it if they want. But don't be a friggin hypocrite. Don't support anti-gay legislature then run off to the closet with people of the same sex for casual sex thinking you're different. Don't bust up prostitution rings then go to one thinking you're different.

IDIOTS.

And while I am at it... I saw a story Friday night that broke my heart. Someone caught up in the sex registry laws. Over consensual sex. I'm a huge fan of the sex offender registry. But it's there to protect us. Teenagers have sex. Anyone convicted of CONSENSUAL sex with a teenager shouldn't be on it the same as a rapist, child molester, etc. As someone who was both raped as a teen and who had CONSENSUAL sex with someone older as a teen, I find it offensive you'd list both of those people on a registry as criminals in the same way. They weren't the same. One raped me, one I wanted to be with and I was old enough to decide that. One plead no contest to a crime, one I'd never have turned into the police nor would my mom and had anyone else I'd have gone to jail for contempt before I'd have said a friggin word under oath to get him into any trouble. Sadly the guy who raped me did so before we had sex offender registries, as the DA told me he'd done it before and was on his way to court a week after doing it to me. Luckily, no one ever ratted out the guy I wanted to be with. Our country is so stupid when it comes to what is a sex crime, it's offensive.
