John Adams was the most nominated for this year's Emmys, with 23.
HA! Brian's first major credit to be seen was on a show that has the most emmy nominations this year!
Means nothing to him or his career etc, but it's damn cool. And the person that he worked for is listed under Visual Effects so !!! w00t.
Neurologist time... Appointment isn't until 9:30 but it's actually first come first served and always hours of wait time so getting there by 8-8:30 means we might get in by 11.
Rerun season = even now Thursday has the best stuff it seems. No Office, no Smallville, no ER... but ABC is giving us a mini-series documentary Hopkins. I can't watch all of the real life medical stuff without having to look away. Ex. Bones broken in ways that no bone should ever be broken = I will usually look away. But a lot of it I can watch. I saw a brain surgeon going in to get a lesion for an biopsy. Considering at one point we thought that the only way to know if I had MS or NS was that very procedure (though me and my doctors agreed we'd not do it) I had to look. Gotta admit to my not so geeky untrained eye it just looked like a piece of brain... ewww.
Moss Beach Distillery = a pathetic fraud. I don't care if you believe in "ghosts" or "spirits" or whatever. TAPS aka Ghosthunters in my opinion truly try to help people who believe they have a problem. How many times have we seen them calm the nerves of a mommy who realized her house wasn't "haunted" or help someone to realize they had electrical problems they needed to deal with and not "ghosts"?
So to call them for help, to have them drive from across the country, and to set them up with obvious haunted house gags and some not so obvious ones that involved them climbing around and in the case of one member getting hurt to investigate a prop = disgusting. I hope their business drops off a lot.
Anyone who would stoop that low to get on tv and then giggle about it when caught = pathetic. And still claiming they're haunted... yeah... sure.
Dear Bill Maher,
I did not authorize you going on Summer Hiatus already, meanie. There's a nasty democratic primary still going on. Who will offend the world and amuse me at 11 pm on Fridays through the rest of this? Ugh now Fridays at 11 just means stabbing myself with Copaxone and nothing else as they don't even tend to re-run your show when you're in hiatus. Brian's suggestion of read my new Supergirl comic won't do, a comic won't last me all week let alone all summer -- though I do still need to finish reading The Last Days of Krypton... and after it I suppose I could start reading The Life and Selected Writings of Thomas Jefferson, somehow I suspect it won't be the same. *cries*
No love,
Me
It is Bill Maher, so there's some "language"....
If you saw part 6/7 of John Adams tonight, you saw what Brian worked on and now that it has aired I can say what he worked on, the White House.
I've slept about 2 hours in a day and a half or something? 2 days? All blends together. The heat (90-95 the last two days), falling asleep before shot so Brian had to wake me up yesterday then not being able to fall asleep again yesterday, etc. All bad. So after dinner and Desperate Housewives, I plan on passing out, not sleeping, passing out cold. MS, if it's nice, will take this exhaustion and make me sleep for 10 hours or so. It's never that nice, but I am that out of it, I need it. My body should be nice o me for once *nods* Brian keeps asking if I'm ok. I was until the lack of sleep really hit my body, now typing this is so hard to do. I keep retyping words and still typoing. zzzzzzzzzzz
John Adams DVD pre-order on Amazon = $38.99, YaY as regular price is more like $60. Mom, don't forget, we plan to get it for you. So far, with only umm 2 parts left to go I think(?) Brian's shots aren't in it. I told him his would be at the end. I'm smart. Given what he worked on it was an easy guess. So far I think it's a good series to be coming out now, with the way politics are in the country. Clearly even in the beginning they had hints of what we would call typical politics today but still it seemed so much more noble and like it truly was all done in the sake of trying to better the country. Good to be reminded of how we got here. I think, in general, we had a better type of person fighting for us back then. I'm pretty sure some, if not all of the "characters" in this series are "rolling over in their graves now" as the saying goes over some of the things that have happened in our country in the last few years. I'm not much into history in general but they did make this interesting. I think mainly because it's about the people more than the war, etc.
I really think HBO needs to do a series on Jefferson next, with the same actor playing him that plays him in John Adams. They've, in my mind, made him almost as main of a character as John Adams in the last few episodes and have me interested enough in his works that I just ordered The Life and Selected Writings of Thomas Jefferson and of course just in case Jefferson's writing makes me think too much, fries my brain, and makes me feel stupid, I ordered something with pictures too: Batman: The Long Halloween
.
I was flipping channels and found, on accident, that Steve from Jerry Springer has his own show now. Something else was actually listed on the channel guide. Not sure how it's doing in ratings since I never even heard of it (though I don't exactly follow daytime talkshows), but it seems to be all about telling bad / abusive parents just how pathetic they are. Not who is your daddy. Not I cheated on you with your brother. Just what you did or are doing to your kids is disgusting, you need help, and stop giving me your excuses. I've known some people who needed someone as big as Steve yelling that in their faces before.
I'm dizzzy and lightheaded, but the sore throat and cough seems to be fading. Brian's in about the same position. It seems to be the next phase of the cold. It's almost worse than the sore throat. We both spent the day walking around like zombies, he even asked me something like "it's affecting your head now too?" Usually we'd go for coffee today, he was in no shape to drive. I somehow managed to boil eggs without breaking any but have dropped several other things today. Argh! Oh my body can't decide if it's hot or cold. Which I guess is ok, I didn't realize it was either a record breaking Easter weather day or at least the hottest one in decades or something.
Watched the next part of John Adams, which I would comment on but have typed enough. Hurt. All blending together. Gonna go watch tv and decide if I need sleep or not. Not tired but too woozy to be doing anything productive.
Pic time.
Ohh btw John Adams starts today, if you have HBO watch it, I happen to live with someone in the credits *cough* and it's not Lister or Dutchie.

Power of The Letter - We will be watching John Adams in my household and you should too... They're giving away a free card (real paper cards, not e-cards) with postage for people who go to that site to encourage people to send real letters, in the tradition of John Adams. I don't think I'm eligible to enter the contest to win a trip to Colonial Williamsburg and even if I was technically eligible it would be inappropriate for me to enter, but you guys can!
