Brian asked me to reschedule my root canal for next Saturday, so I did. He was worried that me coughing up phlegm this morning could be bad news, he was apparently worried I'd cough at a bad time and bite the dentist's finger off, heh... I forgot to ask him why he wasn't worried about what could happen to ME if I coughed at a bad time with a DRILL in my mouth. He was probably worried the dentist would bill him if injured and I wouldn't :P
Managed to get out of robe and into clothes long enough to go get coffee
Came straight home and have been laying around in robe ever since with kitties trying to "take care of me" as I lay curled up crampy, dizzy, and overall blech. Those of you who have kitties probably know, they mean well but their idea of helping or taking care of you is not always so helpful. As Brian put it "I know what it's like to be stalked by the paparazzi, I have cats"
On a positive note it's sprinkling, not raining (we've already gotten something like 3 times the rain we got all of last year). Sprinkling is nice. Pouring rain is not.
So dizzy I can't even follow these political shows! It's not a dizzy like the room is spinning dizzy, it's more erm... ugh wish I would explain, but words fail me so back to being curled up and doing nothing I go.
First the tornado warnings (a roof was damaged or torn off a building depending on which reports you believe). And now three or four avalanches in the mountains with one dead (as of now, it seems some are still missing). This is very un-California like. We were supposed to have traded in weather in exchange for the quake risks. At least I thought that was how it worked. Every time someone points out ohh you live where they have earthquakes no thanks, blah blah then I point out they live where they have weather and we don't get major quakes every year but they do get weather.
Seriously I think Southern California has had enough. Fires. Flooding. Mudslides. Tornado warnings. Avalanches.
We get quakes every day though most are too small to feel. Someone else's turn for all of this. I mean seriously we must have the most Priuses per capita, surely that makes Mother Nature happy? ;)
Ohh and now a copter just crashed onto a freeway. WTF... the world is ending, I'm sure of it.
[21:11:31] [me] Tornado warning in Southwestern LA county... WTF... omg
[21:11:58] [me] so my bf "I'm gonna go outside if I'm not back in 5 minutes call my cell phone"
[21:12:28] [me] Since when does California get Tornados holy shit

Dunno if you guys heard, but holiday shopping season is in full effect. OMFG it's a zoo out there! Lock your doors, stay inside, save yourselves! Everyone and their brother and their brother's friend and their brother's friend's cousin are out! I never see that LA traffic unless we take a freeway (usually when going to the parks, Queen Mary, UCLA and even then it's usually not toooo bad except as you get near offramps). But today, holy traffic batman. Average roads had traffic! In general drivers still didn't scare me but pedestrians = idiots. Ohh and if you BLOCK the only entrance into a shopping center so bad that it's causing traffic out on the main street to get blocked and you just sit there acting like a DUMBASS about it and eventually people start to honk and you FINALLY move over just enough to let people into said shopping center then the normal human reaction isn't to flip them all off as YOU are the idiot.
I did get a Chill Hub, killing two birds with one stone. My laptop gets quite hot. My laptop has two USB ports. I use a full sized wireless mouse and keyboard, my tablet, my iPod, etc. That right there is three USB items. Then occasionally plug in my phone or the camera. And my Christmas present will be an external HD, so another USB item. Yay! BTW BIG BIG BIG BONUS POINTS to the company that made this product -- in a day and age where everything is packaged in so much heavy duty plastic that you all but need a chainsaw to open anything, they *gasp* perforated the plastic for easy opening! <3
And finally... On the way home from Robeks the sky opened and water poured out, a lot. Got drenched walking from the door to the car and was at the closest parking spot.
Oooh! Purrrty! And this one too!
Adventures in Dutch:
Krizzzzzzz (I think I change how many zzzzzzzzzzs he gets each time I type that, heh) sent me the first holiday card I received this year and it was DUTCH! I didn't know enough Dutch to know a key punchline word (clearly I did know it was a humorous card) but I did figure out most of it without cheating ;) Looking at the word I had guessed cat but figured that might not make sense, so I asked a Dutchie. I showed him the full sentence, gave him my translation minus that word, and asked him what it was. He said hangover. Later when Mijn Favoriet woke up I told him I learned a word for hangover, he asked me what, I told him, he ha ha'd and told me that means tomcat. Then I told him the sentence, and he told me indeed or a hangover. heh. Ahh the joys of being a wannabe Dutchie! They always confuse me!
Winter is here:
My holiday cards arrived today though I might not be able to mail them next weekend as Brian might have to work. IF he works next weekend, we won't be doing our holiday mailing until the 15th. You know what that means? That means that the two cards I am sending to Dutchieland will likely arrive on time, the one to the UK will also likely arrive on time, and the rest probably won't as mail within the states SUCKS. Luckily since I'm not sending many this year, I won't feel too bad.
I realize mom's had snow already so I can't whine as we don't exactly get snow. But we did have rain (which we needed so that was good). But it's dropped about 15 degrees in one day. Which for those of you in snowland would still be toasty, but for So Cal is brrrrrrr. We could see our breath when we went shopping tonight so I call that cold. My body isn't happy. Sudden weather changes make my body grrr.

Brrr = turned the heater on and hid under the blankies drawing, which is being turned into a digital drawing now. It's either going to be good... or disappoint me a lot.
I started this post with plenty of zzzzzs and time to end it with them as it's Zzzzzzzzz time.
Man wanting to speak with Clinton takes hostages at her NH campaign office
In other news, I just got the Anouk album I was waiting for! w00t! <3 Bu!!!
We got rain... We needed rain, not sure it was enough or how much is left in forcast.
A present I ordered for mom for Christmas arrived.
Still exhausted. So much so that yesterday my MS was blech and I couldn't hold my coffee and spilled it all over the counter.
I watched the original Hairspray and may watch the new one tonight.
After a long dry spell... top news stories about a water shortage. Threats of a long hot winter. Red flag warnings. Etc... Out of the blue we get:
Yesterday: Snow in SoCal mountains
Tonight: Rain so strong and loud it could beat up Pacific Northwest rains + BOOM thunder that almost gave me a heart attack, and lightning (in the Santa Monica Area - 77 strikes in 3 hours they just said on the news)...
Brian "The city hasn't figured out how to fix it yet". Perhaps Kansas boy has been in Cali a bit too long ;)
Needless to say, I'll be turning my computer off tonight. At least we needed this, but I still friggin HATE thunder.

*update* I wasn't kidding about it being strong rains, emergency broadcast system alert just interrupted Nightline to announce that the national weather service has issues flash flood warnings for LA county through Saturday morning.

Health:
Hmm Let's see started the Provigil and Topamax 2 days ago, body still adjusting, too soon too tell just how good the Provigil will be. Have a bit of a headache but not enough to take the migraine med yet. Left hand has been hmm not normal always since last week (right after I got home from doctor, of course). It's hard to explain so I won't bother for now, clearly the brain aliens aren't happy but it could be much worse so yay. Because summer decided to only start at the end of summer, been sleeping after 10 am until about 6 pm. Apartment is finally cooling down, I hope today stays normal not warmer than normal like the past few days, seems ok so far. I should try sleep soon actually.
News:
Dear government, how do you accidentally transport nukes across the country and NOT realize it?

Now I shall read some Superman, watch some news, and hope sleep comes to me before 10 am this time. It's been really muggy (86% humidity at the moment). Miserable. Not that hot but feels hotter than it is, air feels all heavy. Ugh. Makes it a bitch to sleep.

Even at 6 pm it was as sunny and warm as the middle of the day. So I hung out with a doggie in front of a store while her human mommy was inside. She seemed so friendly and happy but as long as people walked by she wouldn't sit in the shade, just whimpered at everyone for attention. So I sat at the bench petting her. She didn't whimper about being hot anymore just plopped down under the table at my feet in the shade enjoying petting. I really need a yard, I want a doggggggggggie! Bonus points for the owner who came out and was telling us they rescued her.
My portable AC/Fan/Heater in normal Cali warm weather has to be emptied maybe once a month. Currently it can't seem to cool the room below 78 degrees (it's set a bit lower than that) and has to be emptied every few hours. Meh.
